Alison McCauley artist statement

My paintings are typically representational, depicting a variety of subjects from common life encounters. I enjoy the challenge of capturing light, form and contrasting elements to convey life relationships that are beautiful and meaningful. My goal is an expression of life that is compelling, rich and uplifting. My desire is that the image strike an emotional connection with the viewer. I continually strive to expand my subject matter and approach to keep them fresh and stimulating.
 
All of God's creation bursts with beauty and possibilites waiting to be conveyed with paint and canvas. This is the joy and the constant call of my work.
